Today, a gathering of Azerbaijani youth took place in Virginia, USA. Organized by the newly established Azerbaijan House and sponsored by Baku Delicious, which plays a special role in community building, the event aimed to provide a platform for young people to discuss opportunities, exchange ideas, network, and to present the newly launched CAN – Volunteering and Development Platform.
Students from various universities, newly arrived youth, as well as long-term Azerbaijani residents in the U.S., engaged in experience-sharing, voiced their needs, and together developed an action plan to address their potential while strengthening the diaspora. Youth will continue to convene in focus groups and regular meetings to work on new missions and implement projects.
Coordinator of the organizing team, Nigar Ibrahimova, noted that Azerbaijan House is particularly interested in engaging with youth in order to better analyze their interests, emphasizing that young people are currently the group most in need of support.
“This event is an important step towards empowering Azerbaijani youth and strengthening the unity of our community. The energy and ambition of our young people are shaping the future of our diaspora,” said Sevda Tahirli, founder of Azerbaijan House.
Held on Youth Day, the meeting carried a celebratory spirit. Alongside discussions, participants enjoyed networking games, sampled traditional Azerbaijani cuisine, and listened to pieces of national music.
Through a variety of projects and events, Azerbaijan House continues to support the Azerbaijani community and the development of youth. This special day highlighted the global significance of Azerbaijani youth and their contributions to education, leadership, and community engagement.
